Hal was a founding partner of Kovert Hawkins Architects in 1985. Since beginning the firm he has been personally involved in design and project management. Hal has served as Lead Designer and Project Architect for a wide variety of public, commercial, retail, office, governmental, religious and educational facilities.

He has extensive experience as an Architect, in the preparation of construction documents, construction cost estimates, quality control, technical design detailing, and construction inspection.

Hal also has experience implementing these experiences as a general contractor operating in the fields of carpentry, concrete, steel excavation, masonry, drywall, and painting.

In addition, he has held positions as field superintendent, estimator, and office manager. He has a solid comprehension of blending architectural design with practical construction. He is known throughout the industry for having a reasonable and responsible design ethic. His attention to quality control results in projects of lower costs and fewer changes.
